Job Description:

A Collections Representative is responsible for collection and effective delinquency control of assigned accounts and loans within authorized Langley guidelines and applicable collections regulations. The Collections Representative should exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness to monitor and maintain assigned accounts through review, follow up and implementation of payment options to navigate financial challenges. The Collections Representative must have exceptional communication and listening skills. Attention to detail and time management are other important skills for a Collections Representative to possess, as is a proficient understanding of consumer credit reports. Will work in a fast paced, goal-oriented environment with high targets and tight deadlines.RESPONSIBILITIES:Conducts effective delinquency control and follow-up program.Make outbound collection attempts to members (on financial products like autos/personal loans, credit cards, mortgages, etc.) by telephone and or letter to determine reasons for delinquency and to assist them in bringing the account current.Ability to multitask through multiple applications and computer systems simultaneously.Accept inbound calls/emails and returning phone calls and emails in a timely manner.Utilize negotiation and persuasion skills to resolve defaults and delinquencies with members' accounts.Performs skip tracing inquires and activities, as necessary to obtain contact information in order to contact members.Review accounts and strategically negotiate methods of repayment and follow up appropriately when payment arrangements have not been met.Maintains complete coverage of all assigned accounts throughout the calendar month.Processes payment transfers and check by phone requests.Initiate repossession procedural workflows for review and assignment.Comply and initiate legal workflow in a timely manner when court action is unavoidable.Covers collection queues and assignments for other collectors in their absence as directed by manager.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:One year of Collections and/or applicable customer service, strong sales or related role is required.
