Description:Williamsburg Landing, a not-for-profit, single-site,
CARF-accredited Life Plan Community located inWilliamsburg,
Virginia, seeks a Chief Financial Officer to direct the fiscal
function of the corporation inaccordance with industry standards
and the mission of the organization.The Chief Financial Officer
reports to the President/Chief Executive Officer (President/CEO)
and servesas a member of the Senior Leadership Team. This position
is responsible for directing all accountingfunctions including
accurate and timely reporting and payroll services, for the
development andoversight of the annual and capital budgets, for
procuring and maintaining insurance programs, andrelated corporate
compliance. This position also oversees Williamsburg Landing's
InformationTechnology function.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAssists the
President/CEO in identifying, developing and implementing new
financial programs and initiatives to strengthen and/or expand the
capabilities of Williamsburg LandingStays abreast of and analyzes
financial issues and trends in the CCRC industry and makes
recommendation to the President and Board of DirectorsParticipates
in the development and implementation of Williamsburg Landing's
strategic plan helping to ensure that it reflects input from staff
and residentsProvides input to the President/CEO and the Board of
Directors regarding strategic alliances and contracts that will
help Williamsburg Landing achieve its overall mission and related
short-term and long-term financial and business objectivesAssists
the President/CEO in ensuring that vendor and strategic business
partner operations are consistent with Williamsburg Landing's
regulatory and financial operating requirementsDevelops/enhances,
recommends, and submits to the President/CEO and Board of Directors
for approval, fiscal and internal control policies that enhance
Williamsburg Landing's financial and operational effectivenessWorks
closely with Williamsburg Landing's insurance agents to ensure
insurance coverages and policy limits are adequate to protect the
full range of business and financial needs of the
organizationReviews all vendor contracts and recommends changes
relating to financial matters and/or risk management
concernsProvides leadership in financial strategic planning and
establishment of organizational financial goals and objectives with
emphasis on revenue enhancement, cost containment, and optimizing
productivityOversees the preparation of the Annual Operating and
Capital Budgets and presents them to the Finance Committee and the
Board of Directors. Ensures completion of related statistical
budget variance reports and monitors budgetary compliance
throughout the year.Responsible for monitoring and adhering to all
existing debt requirements, and working with banks and/or
investment bankers to raise additional capital as requiredServes as
primary liaison with contracted actuary firm that provides
Williamsburg Landing with essential actuarial projections on an
ongoing basis; knowledge of basic principles of actuarial
accounting and the computerized systems available to make such
projections is necessaryOversees financial and fiscal management
aspects of the organization and affiliates, including cash flow
planning, cash, investment and asset management, business planning,
accounting, budgeting, reporting and auditingOversees
administration of division operations, including reviewing and
evaluating the results of program activities and accounting
practices, ensuing compliance with applicable legal, regulatory,
accreditation and established policies and procedures and
developing organizational and divisional objectives and strategic
initiatives that support the mission, vision, and values of the
organizationProvides ongoing training to Williamsburg Landing's
management and staff to ensure that all Williamsburg Landing's
employees understand how the organization ears and spends its
money.Oversees the supervision of the Finance & Accounting Office,
including Payroll functions, and Information Technology
staffResponsible for any other duties as assigned by the
President/CEO or Board of DirectorsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree
in Accounting and CPA licensure, required; Minimum of eight (8)
years' experience in financial accounting including five plus (5+)
years' of financial management experience, required; Experience in
non-profit finance management, preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ABILITIESAbility to plan, organize, develop, implement, and
interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
necessary to provide quality services and maintain sounds business
operations; demonstrated competency in financial management,
leadership in an interdisciplinary environment, systems-thinking
and effective written and verbal communication skills Williamsburg
