work that accelerates their careers. What You'll Do Fraud is one of
the largest challenges plaguing financial institutions today, with
an estimated $27 billion in annual losses from identity theft
alone. In addition to identity theft, there is a growing trend of
synthetic IDs, manipulated IDs, and abuse of family/friends.
Koalafi is seeking a Business Analyst – Fraud Strategy to deliver
high-impact analysis and insights that drive informed
decision-making and enable profitable portfolio growth. In this
role, you will report to the Director of Fraud Strategy & Analytics
and analyze fraud performance, investigate emerging patterns, and
develop fraud defenses using identity data, behavioral signals, and
machine learning based models and risk indicators. You will be a
hands-on analyst who can move from data exploration à insight à
strategy recommendation à execution, supporting fraud strategy and
risk operations. You will partner closely with Data Science,
Technology, Product, and Risk Operations. This is an opportunity to

losses, approvals, and customer experience. Responsibilities Design
and optimize fraud defense strategies (rules, policies, thresholds,
decision logic) to maximize NPV while balancing operational load
and customer impact. Monitor fraud performance across the
portfolio, proactively identifying shifts in risk patterns,
approval rates, and operational volumes. Investigate emerging fraud
patterns and root causes, translating trends into actionable
recommendations. Build and maintain fraud analytics infrastructure
elements, including dashboards, automated reports and recurring
monitoring pipelines. Conduct cost-benefit and lift analysis for
new vendor data products and alternative risk signals. Provide
analytical support to Risk Operations partners. Present analytical
insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership in
clear, compelling formats that drive informed decision-making.
About You Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field
(e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, etc.) 1-3
years of experience in business analysis, data analytics or a
related field Strong SQL skills and experience working with large
datasets Proficiency in Python for analysis and automation Ability
to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights
Aptitude for learning new subject matter knowledge and technical
tools Curiosity and persistence in investigating unexpected trends
and anomalies Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and
ability to influence through data Analytical mindset with strong
quantitative intuition Preferred Qualifications 2 years of
experience as a business analyst at a financial institution or
adjacent industry such as insurance, health tech Experience with
analytical tooling such as dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau, or
similar Familiarity with A/B testing, statistical analysis, and
experiment design Experience in fraud strategy or credit risk Why
