Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Experienced Field Engineer to join our team in Yorktown, Virginia to support the U.S. Navy's MK48 Heavyweight Torpedo Program.As a On-Site Field Engineer at the Navy's MK48 IMA you will have the opportunity to perform modifications, routine maintenance actions and repairs in accordance with specific customer specifications and technical procedures. Troubleshooting technical problems and determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, submitting change requests to government for publication corrections or deviations from procedures. Perform all work in a strict procedural compliant manner.Basic Qualifications:BS Electrical Engineering Technology degree with 2 years related experienceProficient in troubleshooting and problem solving utilizing oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital meters and schematicsAbility to meet annual screening per OPNAV 5530/1 (Report of Screening for Personnel Assigned AA&E Security Related Duties). Items checked include, but not limited to, Criminal History Record Information, Foreign Influence, Financial History, Emotional and Mental DisordersAbility to pass a physical exam for an Explosive Handler QualificationAbility to wear Personnel Protective Equipment such as steel toe shoes and a variety of gloves/face shieldsDemonstrated experience using MS applications (Word, Excel, Access)Current Interim Secret Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications:BSEE or related commercial/military mechanical/electrical systems training and 2 years experienceBackground in electronic analog/digital test systems and data transfer devicesNGLinkedDSThe health and safety of our employees and their families is a top priority.
