Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer II
JHNA is sourcing for interested Aerospace/Mechanical Engineers to join our growing Newport News, VA team.
This role is part of a bid and proposal effort with a "start work" timeframe of early 2023.
The candidate will be supporting our Army Aviation government customer at Fort Eustis. This initiative will provide mechanical design, electrical design, and drafting support leading to multiple aviation systems Technical Data Packages (TDP) suitable for prototype, full production and special mission hardware. All designs shall be accomplished using Parametric Technology Pro-Engineer/CREO and CREO Schematics CAD software. This position will require on-site support at Fort Eustis, VA.
Roles/Responsibilities


  • Analysis and testing support to develop multiple stress / test reports and flight test instrumentation plans for multiple army aircraft projects that will be determined by the Chief of the Engineering Design and Analysis Branch based on customer requirements. Stress and test reports shall show the "considered design" to be in compliance with the original Prime Item Development Specifications, applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, and/or required maneuver, crash and fatigue loads for the applicable airframe.
  • Structural Load Test plans shall show detailed knowledge of airframe considered and expected load paths. Resonance Assessment Profiles (RAP) testing and vibrational data collection shall be analyzed and reports identifying potential resonance within 5% of rotor harmonics.

    Qualifications Required:

    • Candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
    • Minimum Education: BS in Engineering
    • Minimum Experience: 5 Years
    • Must be current on computer aided Finite Element Analysis software and Windchill Data Base systems
    • Must be familiar with classical analysis as well as finite element analysis software tools.
    • Must be familiar with fatigue analysis and be able to make finite / infinite life assessments.
