We look forward to meeting you. The Role The candidate should be
able to facilitate the following responsibilities: --- Shipchecking
spaces as needed to find the best possible solution for issues, as
they arise. --- Coordinating Arrangement work with the waterfront
trades, by being the direct line of communication with X31 and the
Construction Supervisors --- Be an integration lead with Norfolk
Naval Shipyard and other AIT/CCTs. --- Be an integration lead with
SupShip Newport News AIT/CCT's --- Work with the other E63
Designers and Engineers that are producing the Arrangement
products/drawings, and act as a Lead for the sequestration of
information from the applicable government entity. --- Serve as a
drawing checker for the department --- Be Engineering Point of
Contact (EPOC) to support Scoping questions from Contracts &
Pricing --- Support E63 Management Team in resolving Trade Priority
EIR's --- Support E63 Quality Team in Root Cause Analysis for
Trade/Eng DC Coded IR's --- Support E63 Managers as POC for short
term special projects, ie; ROM estimates for new contracts Designs
major components or major portions of a functional system to
develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing
operations. Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts,
sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture,
availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability,
replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual
specification requirements and cost. Coordinates with other
organizations affected by design development. Makes layouts of
complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and
structures. Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity,
completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications,
and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design
errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions
and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or
designers. Must Have Bachelor of Science Degree and 5 years of
related experience; 4 years of related exempt experience can be
substituted for Bachelor's Degree; 8 years of non-related exempt
experience can be substituted for Bachelor's Degree; 12 years of
non-exempt, Manufacturing, Military, Shipbuilding or Trades
experience can be substituted for Bachelor's Degree. Nice to Have
Knowledge of Nimitz class Electrical systems, including general
