Engility is dedicated to making lives better, safer and more secure.Description:The Information Technology (IT) Engineer will ensure the integration of human characteristics into Automated Information System (AIS) definition, design, development, and evaluation to optimize human-machine performance under operational conditions associated with Army training information systems. The Engineer will use Human Systems Integration engineering principles (AKA Manpower & Personnel Integration (MANPRINT)) to optimize total system performance, reduce life cycle costs, and minimize risk of soldier loss or injury by ensuring a systematic consideration of the impact of materiel design on Soldiers throughout the system development process.. The result should be optimum total system performance. Responsibilities and Duties: Identify issues and risks to human factors from concept development, through system design, testing, and fielding.Attend system meetings to assess and reassess system impacts on the soldier, his organization, and leaders as the system design evolves.Develop and maintain a Human System Integration management Plan for an AIS Program.Identify, understand, trade-off, resolve, or accept risks associated with system development.Develop and review the overall system design and help in planning the developmental plans to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency of the user interface for the soldier.Coordinate with the other engineers to understand and plan how exactly the system is going to operate.Support development and operational usability testing.Support user training analysis and development.Review test reports in detail to assess various factors like system usability, ergonomics, user friendliness, safe utilization, etc.,Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in engineering, information technology, human factors, cognitive psychology, behavioral or related science or any other advanced degree related to system or industrial engineering. Five (5) years experience in Human Factors Engineering or Human Systems Engineering with Army or other DoD training processes, support systems, products, policies, and techniques.Well-versed in fundamental visual and interactive software and mobile design disciplines.Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation, written).System user interface design experience, with demonstrated problem solving skills.Should be a self starter, energetic, and detail oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills. Comfortable to work in a team environment as well as should be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
