Strategy Officer, the Sr. Director of Enterprise Project Management
will have responsibility for the development and execution of an
Enterprise PMO. They will ensure effective portfolio management,
alignment, execution, and realization of cross-functional strategic
initiatives. Specifically, they will establish processes for
project intake, evaluation, governance, prioritization and
decision-making.The Sr. Director of Enterprise Project Management
will drive the development and implementation of scalable,
efficient processes that enhance operational performance and align
with the company's strategic objectives. This leader will focus on
implementing initiatives, streamlining workflows, optimizing
resource utilization, and embedding a culture of continuous
improvement and accountability across Planet Fitness' global
operations, corporate functions, and the franchise network.The Sr.
Director, Enterprise Project Management will play a pivotal role in
ensuring operational excellence by identifying inefficiencies,
developing solutions, and leading cross-functional initiatives that
deliver measurable improvements. Leveraging data, tools and
technologies, and industry best practices, this role will implement
projects, solutions and improvements to "ways of working" across
functions and all levels of the organization.With a pragmatism and
a collaborative approach, the Sr. Director will work closely with
key stakeholders-including operations, finance, marketing, IT and
franchisee teams-to align processes with business goals and enhance
overall organizational efficiency and effectiveness. In addition,
the Sr. Director, Enterprise Project Management will champion a
performance-driven culture by fostering innovation, enabling
employee engagement, and building the tools and frameworks
necessary to support long-term success.Competencies for SuccessTo
succeed in this role, the Sr. Director, Enterprise Project
Management will:
- Manage the execution of enterprise-wide strategies and process
improvements: Lead the creation and implementation of initiatives
to reduce inefficiencies, enhance operational performance, and
ensure the execution of strategic imperatives, across Planet
Fitness' operations and franchise network.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Work closely with senior leaders
across function to ensure execution of initiatives that align with
broader business and growth objectives.
- Standardize and Scale Best Practices: Establish frameworks for
consistent execution of business processes across corporate and
franchise operations, ensuring scalability and alignment with the
organization's strategic goals.
- Engage Corporate and Franchise Teams: Partner with corporate
leaders and franchisees to balance efficiency with exceptional
service delivery, maintaining Planet Fitness' commitment to
franchisee and member success.The ideal candidate will possess
exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with a proven
track record of driving outcomes in a fast-paced, often ambiguous
environment. This role requires a leader with a balance of
strategic and operational rigor, capable of driving impactful,
sustainable improvements across a dynamic, franchise-based
organization.ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Process Strategy &
Leadership
- Champion a culture of operational excellence, embedding Project
Management principles into all aspects of the business to enhance
performance and efficiency.
- Develop and lead the enterprise-wide process improvement
strategy to ensure scalable, efficient, and sustainable operations
across corporate functions and franchise networks.
- Leverage industry trends, data analytics, and emerging
technologies to identify inefficiencies and develop innovative
solutions that drive measurable improvements.
- Collaborate with executives to ensure the prioritization,
integration and execution of enterprise-wide strategic
initiatives.
- Communicate effectively across all stakeholders, including the
development of Board of Directors ready presentations with clear,
concise insights into progress against initiatives.Cross-Functional
Collaboration
- Work with IT and digital teams to implement technology
solutions that enhance process efficiency, including automation,
data integration, and digital tools.
- Collaborate across functions - finance, operations, marketing
teams- to develop financial goals, operational goals and member
experience strategies that align to enterprise-wide strategic
imperatives.
- Partner with field and franchise leadership to improve and/or
standardize operational processes across clubs.
- Support the organization by providing training, resources, and
best practices to ensure effective execution of standardized
processes at all levels.Data-Driven Insights & Continuous
Improvement
- Develop a comprehensive approach for gathering and analyzing
operational data to identify opportunities for process optimization
and track performance metrics.
- Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress,
assess the impact of initiatives, and refine strategies for
continuous improvement.
- Implement feedback loops to capture insights from corporate
teams, franchisees, and external stakeholders, driving iterative
improvements to processes.Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a small, high-performance team of Project
Management professionals, ensuring alignment with the
organization's mission and strategic imperatives.
- Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and accountability,
providing coaching and development opportunities for team members
to thrive.
- Set clear performance metrics for the Project Management team,
monitoring success across areas such as cost savings, operational
efficiency, and project delivery.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure Project Management
initiatives are integrated into broader company
objectives.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; MBA or advanced degree
preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in Project Management, operational
excellence, or business transformation roles, ideally within a
multi-unit or franchise organization or consulting firm.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale Project Management
initiatives, driving measurable implementation gains, and reducing
costs across diverse business operations.
- Strong background in data-driven decision-making, with
experience leveraging analytics, process metrics, and modeling to
optimize performance and identify opportunities for
innovation.
- Deep understanding of technology integration and its
application to Project Management, including automation, AI,
workflow tools, and other emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing
teams in a dynamic environment while fostering a culture of
accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to influence and collaborate across diverse
teams, including corporate leaders, franchisees, and external
stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective execution of
initiatives.
- Experience driving organizational change, including the ability
to develop and implement strategies that engage teams and
facilitate adoption of new processes and systems.
- Expertise in resource allocation, budgeting, and ROI analysis
for enterprise projects, ensuring alignment with broader financial
and strategic goals.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a
track record of presenting complex ideas clearly and influencing
decision-making at all organizational levels.
- Ability to balance big-picture strategy with operational
execution, ensuring alignment with and support long-term business
objectives.
