Holiday Barn Pet Resorts is seeking a Pet Care Manager to join
their team in Glen Allen, VA .
If you have at least 2 years of experience in the animal care field
along with management experience, Holiday Barn wants to hear from
you!

Project. Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Pet Care and Boarding Manager reports directly to the
Facility Manager and works collaboratively with the Holiday Barn
leadership pack
- Accountability for pet welfare
- Oversee the selection, supervision, training, and development
of Pet Care pack to maximize our level of service to guests,
ensuring all Holiday Barn pet care SOPs are properly executed
- Must be able to encourage and foster teamwork, provide timely
feedback, and identify areas for improvement, coach, and/or
terminate when necessary
- Act as a "Pack" leader and communicate effectively with all
teams
- Manage pet care and boarding pack by creating schedules,
communicating staffing needs, and managing labor costs
- Monitor and respond to the needs of pet guests to ensure their
safety, security, and health
- Develop and implement ideas to improve pet care and boarding
operations
- Manage staff needs among other teams as business trends
require, such as grooming, customer experience, or dog day
care
- Support other teams as needed in absence of their manager
and/or supervisor
- Provide clear, realistic expectations and constructive feedback
to staff regarding work performance
- Must be able to conduct department meetings and deliver
scheduled performance evaluations and reviews
- Handle customer concerns and opportunities in a professional
manner
- Understand all facility operations to keep the resort running
efficiently and safely for our pets, customers, and employees
- Ensure safety of all employees by conducting safety training,
enforcing safe-handling rules, and complying with all
safety-related policies
- Responsibilities include heavy lifting, handling energetic
pets, repetitive arm motions, long periods of standing,
body-bumping, loud noises, health conscientious cleaning, and LOTS
of cat and dog interactions!
- We are a resort, which means we're busiest on weekends and
holidays
About the Company:
Holiday Barn has a rich history which began with Emerson and Kathy
Hughes' love for dogs and cats. Emerson, a Henrico County music
teacher, and his family opened Holiday Barn Pet Resorts in Glen
Allen, VA in 1972. A few years later, they opened a second
Richmond, VA location near Midlothian.
Today their son, Michael, is head of the pack. Holiday Barn
celebrates the individual strengths of our Pack members. What
