Pyramid Healthcare is excited to announce the opening of our newest facility right here in Newport News. This facility is a 160 bed Behavioral Health Hospital that has 20 detoxification beds, 100 residential addiction beds and 40 psychiatric

Pyramid Healthcare, Inc. provides treatment for those suffering from addiction or substance abuse as well as individuals with mental health disorders. We are searching for a Director of Nursing dedicated to providing quality care to clients in our Newport News facility.

Our ideal candidate displays strong leadership qualities. They must be a team builder with the ability to drive continuous performance improvement projects. Additionally this candidate should excel in problem-solving/trouble shooting as well as teaching and educating team members.

Responsibilities Include

• Advanced and/or thorough knowledge of psychiatric, drug and alcohol disorders and general nursing care concepts.
• Support and promote an environment and culture of professional nursing behaviors at all times across the organization
• Assist with monitoring and evaluating all nursing activities including staff development, risk and safety management, financial management, compliance with regulatory standards, policy and procedure development/implementation and performance improvement activities.
• Ensure nursing practices utilize evidence based practice, regulations and performance improvement to guide clinical decision making related to existing and future program implementation.
• On call 24/7 and accessible to nursing staff as necessary.
  
  Requirements
  
  • Current RN license in state of practice
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous Drug and Alcohol experience, including Methadone and Medication Assisted Treatment (Suboxone and Vivitrol) preferred.
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
    
  • Knowledgeable in the treatment of Drug and Alcohol and Co-occurring Disorders
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws CPR/First Aid and AED other trainings as required.
  • Awareness and understanding of regulating bodies (CARF, Office of Mental Health, DDAP)
