Full-Time LPN positions offer a $5,000 retention bonus (paid out:
90 days - $1,250; 6 months - $1,250; 1 year - $2,500)
Part-Time Plus LPN positions offer a $3,500 retention bonus (paid
out: 90 days - $875; 6 months - $875; 1 year - $1,750)
Part-Time LPN positions offer a $1,500 retention bonus (paid out:
90 days - $750; 6 months - $750)

Williamsburg Landing, a local CARF-accredited life plan community,
seeks Full-Time (36+ hours/week), Part-Time Plus (30-35
hours/week), and Part-Time (less than 30 hours/week) Licensed
Practical Nurses (LPNs) to care for residents in Memory Support.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the direction and
supervision of the Manager of Memory Support, provides nursing care
for residents. The LPN oversees the work of CMAs and CNAs on the
unit and directs emergency response when necessary. The LPN assists
physicians on the unit as requested and as the practicing licensed
professional on the unit, ensures all documentation is timely and
correct, all medications are dispensed as written, and that all
errors are promptly reported and remediated.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees the work of Nursing Assistants, ensuring
responsibilities are performed satisfactorily
- Assigns and monitors work performed by CMAs and CNAs; trains
nursing assistants in accepted work methods; provides information
to the Manager of Assisted Living or Memory Support regarding
further training needs; provides input for nursing assistants'
performance evaluations and discipline
- Supervises the nurses in Assisted Living and/or Memory Support
and makes the necessary number of rounds to ensure that quality
nursing care is being provided; assigns work to staff and provides
back up support as needed and takes immediate corrective action
when necessary
- Complies and enforces department and company policies and
procedures including standards of conduct, attendance, dress and
safety
- Assists with resolving staffing needs and emergency staffing
problems when necessary
- Monitors staff for professionalism and positive interaction
with residents, guests and other WLI employees
- Assists with the planning and overall nursing care of the
residents on the unit; monitors residents' medical charts for
accuracy and timeliness of information updates; assists Managers
with chart audits and other pertinent information to include the 24
hour chart checks including POSs, MARs, and TARs as required by
regulations
- Performs professional nursing tasks and nursing procedures to
include, but not limited to: medication administration, ordering
prescriptions and performing treatments as ordered etc.;
participates in shift hand offs with the previous and next shift's
nursing staff on residents with significant changes and supervises
that all work has been completed
- Assures all shift responsibilities are completed before the end
of the shift by the CMAs and CNAs
- Documents and completes other tasks in Electronic Medical
Record system
- Keeps MD, NP, and supervisors informed of any significant
changes in the residents' conditions, vital signs and other
developments as they occur; maintains vigilance to observe any
unusual symptoms or signs of illness or skin breakdown, and reports
same to nurse in charge; reports any indication of residents'
deteriorating physical, emotional, or mental health by noting such
cues as uneaten food, deteriorating cleanliness or conversations
that indicate deep unhappiness or loneliness
- Maintains adequate supplies and equipment for the unit and
records supplies and equipment to be ordered
- Assists Administrator of Assisted Living or Managers with
resident evaluations to determine individualized care plans and
attends resident review team meetings as needed
- Maintains communication with MD, NP, and family members as
requested and within the confines of federal and state
regulations
- Responds to resident needs on the Units including emergencies,
medication administration, and support with activities of daily
living
- Assists the physicians with medical procedures when
requested
- Evaluates work processes and methods and submits
recommendations for continuous performance improvement
- Assumes responsibility for own professional development
including meeting all mandated standards and staying abreast of
developments within the field
- Complies with all Williamsburg Landing policies and procedures
including standards of conduct, attendance, safety, personal
hygiene and dress
- Attends scheduled training programs for professional
development that includes, at a minimum, trainings required by
Williamsburg Landing and by regulatory and accrediting bodies
- Performs other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS Must be a
Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia; ability
to read and write effectively in English; two (2) years of nursing
experience in long-term care, acute care or assisted living setting
preferred with one (1) year of supervisory experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAbility to communicate effectively
in English, both verbally and in writing, to fulfill job
responsibilities; comprehensive knowledge of nursing procedures,
theory and practice with an emphasis on current trends in
gerontological nursing; ability to work effectively as a member of
a team and to support the development of RMAs and CNAs; ability to
exercise sound professional judgment; ability to respond
appropriately in an emergency; ability to lift and carry a minimum
of 50 pounds; requires standing and walking for entire shift,
safely lifting and transferring residents; must obtain CDP
Certification within the first year of hire and maintain current
CPR
Employees may be required to work overtime when conditions that
affect business needs make such scheduling necessary.
NAMASTE CARE:Namaste Care, opening in 2023, is designed for people
living in the late stage of dementia. This program incorporates
continual relationship-centered care from engaging with the
resident in activities of daily living to sharing in social,
multi-sensory engagements during the day in a calm environment.
Namaste Care Partner Nurses must be Licensed Practical Nurses in
the Commonwealth of Virginia and are required to complete advanced
Namaste Care Education and obtain Certified Dementia Practitioner
(CDP) certification within the first 90 days of hire. This exciting
