Job Description:
Position Purpose:--The Community Living Nurse (RN) is charged
with nursing activities in the ICFIID residential and day support
programs and provides consultation to the Waiver funded programs.
The position will ensure that the health and medical needs of
individuals within the ICFID Program are continually being
addressed, monitored, and provided.
--
Primary Duties:--- Performs nursing assessment, prepares nursing
care plans and nursing reports.--- Provides clinical supervision to
Community Living LPNs.--- Participates in the ID team meetings.---
Consults with physicians, consultants and other clinical and
medical professionals regarding consumer psychological and medical
plans and treatments under the guidance of the Chief community
Living Officer, Lead RN. Serves as liaison with medical consultant
and primary physicians as needed.--- Oversees the management of
orders for medications, medication storage, medical supplies and
equipment for individuals within the ICFID program.--- Transports
individuals to medical and psychological appointments when
needed.--- Develops and implements medical protocols and tracking
charts with Lead RN and PT RN.--- Assists with the planning and
organizing of staff orientation and in-service training for LPNs,
Managers, and direct support professionals and other agency
staff.--- Administers individual medications when needed.---
Maintains valid Virginia driver's license and insurable under the
company's auto insurance.--- Participates in on call schedule.---
Performs other nursing related duties as needed.COVID-19

Education:--High School diploma or equivalent. Must have
Certification as Registered Nurse and a current Virginia Sate
Nursing License.
Experience:--Two years nursing experience in mental health,
intellectual disability, health or related filed. Experience in
clinical supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses.
Skills Knowledge & Abilities:
Must have a comprehensive knowledge of intellectual disability or
other developmental disabilities, mental health and physical
disabilitiesMust have knowledge and ability to acquire medical and
clinical resources to meet individuals medical and psychological
needsMust have knowledge of various medical treatment, first aid,
cpr, medication administration, and infection controlMust be able
to work independently performing duties and responsibilities under
general supervision and guidance of Director, Community LivingMust
be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writingMust be
able to maintain effective inter and intra-agency relationshipsMust
have the ability to effectively supervise and coach nurses to
optimize their potentialMust have the ability to multi taskMust
able to use a computer proficiently for typing reports, managing
time, researching diagnoses, communicating via e-mailMust have a
valid Virginia License and must be insurable under VersAbilitys
auto insurance

over 50 pounds such as lap top computers, binders, performing
lifts, pushing wheelchairs, etc.
