VCA Merrimac Animal Hospital is hiring a Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician (or LVT-eligible) to join our team!Location: 628 Penniman Road Williamsburg, VA 23185About Us ---We are an AAHA-accredited multi-doctor practice in Williamsburg, VA, offering Primary Care, Illness Care, Surgery, Dentistry, Boarding, and more. We are open for medical visits Monday through Saturday, with boarding pickup hours on Sunday afternoons.Check out our website here: https://vcahospitals.com/merrimacAbout the RoleOur DVMs trust our LVT's and we seek to utilize our LVT team to their fullest potential. We are seeking dependable, adaptable, fun, and detail-oriented team members. Our LVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients. Duties to include:Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.Venipuncture and IVC placementAdminister SQ fluids, medications, etc.Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.Recognize subtle change in clinical status.Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.Complete estimates, basic record keeping.Surgical preparation and assisting.Anesthesia monitoring.Dentistry and dental radiographs.Maintaining medical records.Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients.Filling prescriptions.Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.Why VCAVCA Animal Hospitals is a community of over 800 hospitals across the US, including primary care, emergency, and specialty medicine.
