We are seeking highly qualified General Medicine Physicians for an ongoing locum opportunity with Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a reputable government contractor committed to supporting our nation's Veterans. This role offers the flexibility to work in your own community while providing critical assessment services that help Veterans receive the care they deserve. In this position, you will conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across various locations in Virginia, performing interview-based evaluations with minimal physical assessments. This is an excellent opportunity for physicians with a background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine, who are interested in a flexible PRN schedule that aligns with their expertise and availability. Required Skills: Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid, unrestricted medical license in Virginia Proven experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine Strong knowledge of compensation and pension evaluation procedures is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to perform interview-based assessments and basic physical exams such as range of motion and muscle strength testing Comfortable working independently in your own office setting with minimal oversight Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with VA or government assessment programs Familiarity with compensation & pension evaluation protocols Certification in relevant medical assessments or evaluations Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree from an accredited institution At least 2 years of clinical experience, ideally with exposure to VA exams or similar evaluations Comfortable managing administrative documentation related to exams and reports Other Requirements: Own a private office with the necessary facilities for conducting assessments in Coeburn, Covington, Hillsville, and Charlottesville, VA Availability to work 1-3 days per week, with flexible scheduling options (either half-day or full-day shifts) Ability to complete exams, submit reports, and perform follow-up administrative tasks efficiently Local candidates preferred; travel is included in the compensation rates Willingness to adhere to the specified rate structure, with a one-time $650 bonus upon completing training and initial exams This is a rewarding opportunity to impact Veterans’ lives while maintaining a flexible schedule that suits your professional goals.
