Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

As a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, you will be immersed in a practice setting that caters predominantly to high-risk pregnancies. You will manage a diverse array of cases, including pre-eclampsia, multiple pregnancies, growth restrictions, chromosomal abnormalities, congenital abnormalities, pre-term labor, hypertension, thrombophilia, genetic disorders, and birth defects. Your role will involve performing specialized procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling, with opportunities to advance your skills in cerclage.

Schedule and Assignment Details

The assignment offers a balanced schedule with clinic coverage from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:15 PM, complemented by nightly call duties on weekdays and 24-hour call coverage on weekends. This locum position has open dates and spans multiple sites, requiring rotation between two primary locations approximately 30 minutes apart. Your expertise will be pivotal during the recruitment period, ensuring the continuum of care for patients.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
• Completion of a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine is required.
• A valid Virginia medical license and BLS certification are mandatory.
• AIUM Certification is preferred.
• Prospective candidates must submit a Self-Query NPDB report within 30 days of presentation.
