Description POSITION SUMMARY
The District Manager is responsible for the overall operation of two or more branches and ensuring that Branch Managers understand their responsibilities and assignments. This position requires the ability to think analytically and to multi-task. Travel -50%, same day out of town, occasional overnights.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote good customer service and respond to customer issues. Maximize sales and route profitability. Direct branch managers; monitor work performance; coach employees; resolve problems; enforce company policies. Develop and mentor staff with a focus on growth and development. Ensure that all branch personnel perform their job duties in a safe manner and that they take all reasonable precautions to avoid work-related accidents. Assist the Risk and Safety Department and the Branch Manager with accident investigations and regulatory compliance. Ensure monthly safety meetings are held and training records are maintained. Continually reinforce and promote the safety message. Work closely with the Human Resource Department for recruitment, hiring, onboarding, retention and training needs, ensuring adherence to company policies. Responsible for product accountability for all branches and routes within area of responsibility. Including daily, weekly, and monthly cooler and route settlements. Responsible for all rolling stock; Ensures equipment is properly maintained, and decals are visible and DOT compliant. Maintains KPI's and is responsible for providing necessary data for other metrics reporting. Ensures the proper retrieval of all milk cases and pallets. Ensures facilities and property are protected and maintained in good order. Restructure routes as needed. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Branch Managers. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.JOB QUALIFICATIONS
At least 8 years of experience in sales and distribution with 5 of those years being in a management role.
OR
Bachelor's degree in business or related field and at least 5 years of prior management experience in sales and distribution.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team. Excellent communication skills. Self-starter Ability to think strategically, critically and multitask. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
