Job Description:

SLAIT Consulting is currently seeking a Technical Project Manager for our client in the Newport News, VA area.

Project Management Responsibilities:

• Ensure the successful completion of assigned projects

• Ensure that the project team members are aware of project milestones and deliverables

• Manage the scope of the projects

• Resolve any issue that may hinder project success

• Execute/implement the appropriate communications plan

• Ensure that the appropriate processes and methodologies are adhered to

• Maintain project documentation and metrics as defined in the Ferguson Project Methodology

• Effectively lead the project team, maintaining good morale, etc.

• Manage appropriate levels of risk and budget reporting and tracking

• Assist Senior IT Program Manager in collective project tracking

• Build and lead effective project teams from assigned resources

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Good understanding of FEI and its business operations/practices

• Strong PC skills

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Demonstrated expertise in leadership and management skills

• Demonstrated expertise in project management processes and methodologies

• Possess good, general business and technical knowledge

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of associates

• Proactive approach on the job

• Facilitation—able to work within a group/team environment

• Receptive to some travel

• Strong attention to detail

• Able to maintain balance between strategic vision and tactical execution

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Able to manage multiple priorities

• Team Player within the PM group and with the project team

• Conflict resolution/mediation experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 5 years related work experience

• Minimum of 5 years project management or leadership experience

• BA or BS degree preferred

• High proficiency with Office Software

• Familiar with Project Management Software and Methodologies
