Essential Responsibilities:Answer telephones and screens calls for financial advisorsInteracts daily on the phone and in person with prospective and existing clients including handling basic inquiriesResearches client and security information through the back office systemProcesses and follows up on client documentation for proper maintenance of accountsPrepares letters, forms and spreadsheets to assist with servicing existing clients and prospecting for new clientsCreates and maintains records and filesMaintains databases and creates reports using portfolio software programsAssists financial advisors with marketing efforts including seminars, etc.Receives and processes securitiesTrains other service associates when neededSupervises other support staff when needed under direction of supervisorCross-trains on other operational functions and performs back-up in these areas as neededMinimum Required Skills and Competencies:High School Diploma or equivalentRegular attendance is requiredMust project an excellent customer service attitudeGood interpersonal skills to deal with clients, financial advisors and other staffStrong written and verbal communication skills sufficient to deal with financial advisors, clients and other staffProfessional and pleasant appearance and demeanor to work with clientsAbility to work under pressure and meet daily deadlinesAbility to work independentlyGood organizational skills to be able to prioritize tasksGood analytical skills to be able to research account informationMathematical abilities sufficient to process account and transaction informationAbility to operate general office equipment (copier, fax, etc.)Computer skills adequate for creating/maintaining databases and the ability to learn various software packagesDesired Skills and Competencies:Series 7Series 63At least 5 years securities industry or related work experience preferredPhysically you can anticipate to:Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verballyExert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the timeHave close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentationNot substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this job.
