Job Description:
Cardno Government Services is seeking talented and motivated
individuals to join our firm to inventory and document existing
quantities of building materials (e.g., plumbing, mechanical,
electrical, and building envelope construction/building materials)
currently stored at public works centers co-located at 60+ Navy
installations throughout the U.S.
Job Description:
Successful candidates will join one of numerous inventory
assessment project teams. Each team will be required to travel
continuously from installation-to-installation.
In addition to hourly compensation, travel per diem will be
provided (varies by location and in accordance with DoD Joint
Travel Regulations) and all travel expenses will be reimbursed to
you (or covered by Cardno at your request). Travel-related mileage
and associated other benefits (e.g., hotel reward points, airline
miles) earned will be the employees to keep.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Inventory and categorize all building materials and supplies
within designated public works center shops and vehicles at the
installation.
* Adept at use of computer tablets with built-in cameras (e.g., MS
Surface Pro) to inventory and categorize items.
* Responding to Catalogers and QC staff on data and quality
review
* May apply labels to items in the field, while confirming accuracy
of data collected
* Recognizes and identifies discrepancies in data and follow-up
through a series of related steps or procedures, as directed by
more senior personnel
* Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions
and standard practices.
* Physical ability to inspect large complexes at fast pace
(assessors typically walk up to 5 miles per day) and the employee
must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Basic Qualifying Requirements:
* Ability to travel
* Must pass a background investigation.
* Must pass an initial drug screening as part of on-boarding/hiring
process
* High level of attention to detail
As a federal government contractor, we require all staff to be

Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity or working knowledge of residential and commercial
building construction practices and techniques, specifically
construction materials (e.g., plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and
building envelope construction materials).
