Position: Outside Machinist Handyman
Job Location: Newport News
Hutco Branch: Newport News
Rate of Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

DESCRIPTION:
We are currently looking for Handy Men with experience in machinery overhaul, installation, testing, propulsion and tool operation to work in Norfolk Virginia.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to obtain a government facility security pass (DBIDS)
OSHA 10 Maritime
Must be able to pass a seven-year background check w/ No Felonies
Must pass drug test and E-Verify.
Machinery overhaul and installation and testing of all the following: Winches (Electric driven* Electrohydraulic)
Anchor windlesses
Steering gear
Air compressors
Pump and motor alignments
Valve repairs
Diesel engine repairs
Hydraulic trouble shooting * repairs
Reduction gear repairs
Generator repairs
Boat davit repairs
Bearing fit-up & installation
Gas turbine repairs

Propulsion experience of the following: Shafting repairs and alignment, fixed and controllable pitch
Propellers removed and installed
Rudder's repair and installed

Tool operation requirements: Operate grinder fixed and portable
Operate drill presses fixed and portable
Fixed presses
Porta powers
Hydraulic jacks
Torches and torque wrenches

Personal Protective Equipment:
Hard Hat, Steel Toe Safety Boots, Safety Glasses, Gloves

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
Work in various areas of the facility production
Meet required goals and production during your shift
Work in a fast-paced work environment
Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tag out procedures and Process Safety Management related matters
Should be able to work on any equipment shown below with very little supervision.
They should be able to read and use tech manuals and blueprints and specification items.
Use and understand precision measuring instruments.
Should be able to work on any equipment with close supervision.
Must be available to work assigned schedules and extended hours as needed including day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours

Assorted sizes of combination wrenches, socket sets, slip joint pliers, adjustable wrenches, wire pliers, hammers-ball pean and flat head, screw drivers (flat and phillips) vise grips, 6" scale- 12' tape measure and snap ring pliers. Micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, pipe wrench, punch set, chisels and small mall.
