Job Description:
Overview
LMI is seeking Kubernetes Platform Engineers to model, design,
construct, and manage CI/CD tooling to support development of an
enterprise solution for the Army Training Information System.
Responsibilities
Duties: Model, design, construct, and manage CI/CD tooling. Tooling
enables custom and off the shelf (commercial and government)
components to be built, tested, scanned for security compliance,
and released according to Agile Release Train requirements.
* Evaluate options between Open Source and COTS, derive consensus
on, and implement a Kubernetes platform.
* Maintain and operate Kubernetes cluster implementing cost and
health monitoring.
* Build new and leverage existing CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
* Ensure CI/CD pipeline definitions are STIG compliant.
* Support Cybersecurity personnel in maintaining CI/CD security
compliance integrity.
* Explore, present for consensus, and implement long-term storage
solutions that meet data governance requirements.
* Assist with development of template apps and deployment
configurations to provide developers with as little platform
responsibility as possible.
* Develop, maintain, and enhance deployment templates via Helm
* Be able to implement corrective measures quickly to preserve
uptime SLAs.
* Interface with developers to identify and implement separation of
concerns between app development and networking, infrastructure,
and Kubernetes resources.
* Interface with DevOps engineers to assist in the development of
infrastructure as code to address platform performance issues.
Percentage of Travel Required: 10%
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* 10+ years' experience in IT-related field; software development,
systems administration, deployment operations.
* Proficient in Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud native
computing.
* Proficient in designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD build
pipelines.
* Proficient in Linux system administration and management.
* Proficient in one or more scripting languages: bash, python,
Perl, Ruby.
* Proficient in YAML templating.
* Proficient with Git.
* Proficient in using Linux command line tools to retrieve and
parse deployment relevant health and performance data.
* Knowledge of network design and implementation concepts; DNS,
routing, proxy configuration, etc.
* Knowledge of software design patterns.
* Experience with cloud system monitoring tools.
* Experience with Agile.
* Knowledge of or experience with STIG compliance of software.
* Security+, or equivalent, or able to certify within 6 months of
hiring date.
* Education: Master's in Computer Science or Engineering degree or
equivalent experience.
* Clearance: Confidential/NAC (T1)
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
* Proficient in using Linux command line tools to retrieve and
parse deployment relevant health and performance data.
* Experience and proficiency with network design and implementation
concepts; DNS, routing, proxy configuration, etc.
* Experience with software design and development.
* Experience with EKS.
* Experience/familiarization with HCD (human centered design).
* Understanding and familiar with SAFe (Scaled Agile
Framework).
