Eastern State Hospital, located in scenic Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services ( DBHDS ) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Eastern State Hospital invites qualified applicants for the position of Trades Technician III .

This position may be required to work a rotating shift (Days and/or Evenings).

This position reports to the Trades Manager for providing a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff. This position conducts general maintenance for the Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical and Mechanical shops by repairing and maintaining properly functioning equipment.

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or facility need. All ESH positions are required to work different shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime as requested.

Minimum Qualifications :
--- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
--- Experience at the Journeyman's level in commercial: Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC fields.
--- General plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
--- General knowledge of HVAC systems.
--- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC equipment and maintenance methods pertinent to the general building maintenance field.
--- Ability work independently, to plan assigned work, select and gather needed materials, tools and equipment for maximum efficiency and compliance with codes and regulations.
